AnswerHello Michael!
Tell your friend thanks for the recommendation! That's very sweet!
As to your kitty not purring...how old is your kitty? If she's under a year old, she may just have not yet found her purr. It took about a year for my female kitty to find hers, and even now, I can't hear it unless my ear is directly on her shoulder. It's very quiet...which also may be the case with your baby. Try putting your ear on her shoulder or the top of her neck (not under her chin) while you're petting her sometime, and listen to see if you can hear her purr then.
Bottom line, though, if you don't hear a purr, don't worry. It doesn't mean your kitty isn't happy, she may just be one of the few that doesn't really have a purr. It's not a sign of a health problem or unhappiness, just a quirk that is encountered in a small percentage of cats.
So, take a moment, take a deep breath...and relax. Your baby is just fine. :o)
Hugs to you guys!
