Question
What exactly is Kenosis?
What are its implications for Christian discipleship?

Thanks

Steve

Answer
Steve,

Thanks for your question.

Kenosis is a Greek word which connotes "emptying".  The famous Philippians 2 passage states that Christ "did not deem equality with God something to be retained, he emptied himself, taking on the form of a slave".

In a similar way we are to empty ourselves that Christ and his will might live in us.

Hope that helps.
