Catholics/Why God created man?

Question
Hi,

Why God created man? Why He wants to reward or punish man based on his beliefs or actions? What benefit God derives from all these.

Regards.

Answer
God created man to have fellowship with Him, from motives not at all that different from some of those for which couples will want to have children.  Despite the inconvenience cause by creating mankind (or having children), the population of the universe with intelligent beings is a good thing.
God cares about what we do because He wants the best for us, even as we would want our children to be good, honest, upright, industrious, charitable, and not to destroy themselves with drugs or diseases or other destructive behaviors.
Hope this helps, God bless!
