Catholics/Dating before annulment

Question
Hi Deacon Tom,
I am wondering whether I should date while I am still going through the annulment process.  I am confident my marriage was invalid.  I am from a big Catholic family and have their support and blessing.  If I didn't feel I was justified in seeking an annulment, I wouldn't.  My problem is that I am so ready to start talking to other men, but don't know if I should or not.  I would be honest with them, and let them know that if the annulment was not granted I would not proceeed with a relationship.  Am I okay to date casually during the annulment process?  I would not get involved in a serious relationship until I know the outcome.
I appreciate your thoughts,
Marie

Answer
Marie,

I see nothing wrong with what you are proposing. Although technically, you are still sacramentally married during the annulment proceedings. I'm of course assuming that you're legally divorced from your former spouse. It would certainly be a good idea to inform anyone you date as to what your status with the Church is.
