Question
Hi Griff,
My Question is this. My Wife and I bought an old home. In the attic we found an old picture that someoone made. It has a cutout of the Virgin Mary and Jesus in it and someone wrote the inscription, " Upraszaj nam lask u Boga O Sw. Anno blagamy Cie" or else the first word is "Upraseaj" and the last word is "Cig" The font is in old English and I think the text is Latin. Could you please tell me what this says?

Answer
The inscription is not Latin but Polish.  I have consulted some Polish friends of mine and one said it means "Intervene In Our Behalf For Graces From God to St. Ann We Beg Of You," and the other said "The first part is asking God to grant graces, and the second is petitioning St. Anne to intercede; something along the line of O, Saint Anne we beg you (to intercede)."
Hope this helps, God bless!
