Question
For what reasons would a nun or sister for that matter be asked to leave the ministry? Are there examples of this in history?

Thanks!

Answer
Dear Lindsey:

If a nun or sister could no longer fulfill their vows they would be asked to leave the ministry. I know of several nuns that were asked to leave the ministry because they became very secular in their thinking. They were no concerned longer with the Church, but rather were interested in liberal politics. I'm sure that there are a number of examples of this throughout history especially in the 1960's and 70's in the wake of Vatican II.

Thanks for the question,
Sal
