Question
I was born into the Catholic Church, but I was baptized as a member of the LDS church, as an adult. I have since realized my error, and I wish to return the The Church. How do I reconcile this second baptism? Was this a sin? I want to again communicate via the Eucharist, but I do not wish to compound any wrong doing by not being in a State of Grace when doing so. Can you advise me?
Hi John.
No worries. The invalid baptism of the LDS Church 1. does not negate the valid baptism and 2. Is questionable whether it is even sin or not.
With sin there is the knowledge of wrong.
I strongly recommend a good confession. Make an appointment so that you can 1. have time in advance to prepare and 2. have plenty of time in the confession itself.
