Catholics/Saving souls for Christ

Question
Dear Griff,

I have a mission, I feel that God is calling me to evangelize and to save souls for Christ. Last night I wrote to a pagan cult on allexperts to stop what they are doing. To stop praying to false Gods. To convert to christianity. I told these worshippers to repent of there sins. To say the sinners prayer I call it. I felt God stirring in my soul and I just wanted to tell them God loves them but not what they are doing.

In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.

PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, Saint Michael the Archangel. defend us in "our battle against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places" (Ephes. 6:12). Come to the assistance of men whom God has created to His likeness and whom He has redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Holy Church venerates thee as her guardian and protector; to thee, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed to be led into heaven. Pray therefore the God of Peace to crush Satan beneath our feet, that he may no longer retain men captive and do injury to the Church. Offer our prayers unto the Most High, that without delay they may draw His mercy down upon us; take hold of "the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan." Bind him and cast him into the bottomless pit "so that he may no longer seduce the nations" (Apoc. 20:2).

OFFERING OF LOVE AND PRAISE
Variation of a Prayer Recited by  St. Gerard Majella

MY GOD,  I make the intention of offering to Thee as many acts of love and praise
as the Blessed Virgin, all the Saints and Angels, as well as all the faithful on earth
have ever made. I desire to love Thee as much as Jesus Christ loves Thee.
I wish to renew these acts at every pulsation of my heart.

PRAYER TO REDEEM LOST TIME

O MY GOD! Source of all mercy! I acknowledge Thy sovereign power.
While recalling the wasted years that are past, I believe that Thou, Lord, can
in an instant turn this loss to gain. Miserable as I am, yet I firmly believe that
Thou can do all things. Please restore to me the time lost, giving me Thy grace,
both now and the future, that I may appear before Thee in "wedding garments."
Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE GRACE FROM ALL THE WORLD'S MASSES:

Eternal Father, we humbly offer Thee our poor presence, and that of the whole of humanity, from the beginning to the end of the world at all the Masses that ever have or ever will be prayed. We offer Thee all the pains, sufferings, prayers, sacrifices, joys, and relaxations of our lives, in union with those of our Lord Jesus here on earth. May the Most Precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood, Wounds, and Agony save us, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.

[This prayer should be recited daily, and be made known.]

THE DAILY PRACTICE OF ADOPTING
AN UNKNOWN DYING SOUL

God's mercy is so abundant that He wants to shower it upon earth. He sent His only Son, Our Lord to redeem sinners at the cost of Calvary. Christ would have died on that Cross to redeem but one soul, yet the One Sacrifice was sufficient for all. Redemption, however, does not suffice for salvation, as St. Paul warns us to work out our salvation "in fear and trembling."

With the great Apostasy predicted by the Apostle to the Gentiles come upon us in these last days many souls are going to Hell: they either do not know how, or cannot pray for themselves.
But Jesus Christ is waiting and now is the acceptable time, if only we, who do believe and do pray would only make it a daily habit of unfathomable charity and mercy, to spiritually adopt an unknown dying sinner, asking God for the grace for that person to repent or ask for mercy in his last moments. As a pledge of our fidelity and trust in Christ's mercy, all we have to do is ask through our prayer offering, perhaps, if so moved, to offer the intention of our entire day, or to forego one small pleasure that is licit in exchange [not necessary but a gracious little work]; at the very least we should make the intention of bearing one inconvenience that day with more patience than is our usual wont, for the repentance of that soul.

Any formula of prayer can be used, but for those who prefer an assist, here is a short invocation that can be said for that soul:

A PRAYER FOR THE DYING AND A SPECIAL SOUL

O MOST MERCIFUL JESUS, lover of souls,
I beseech Thee, by the agony of Thy most Sacred Heart,
and by the sorrows of Thine Immaculate Mother,
wash clean in the Thy Blood the sinners of the whole world
who are to die this day.

Remember most especially the soul I spiritually adopt
with the intention of entrusting him or her to Thy Shepherd's care:
I beseech Thee for the grace to move this sinner, who is in
danger of going to Hell, to repent. I ask this because of my
trust in Thy great mercy.

If it should please Thy Majesty to send me a suffering this day
in exchange for the grace I ask for this soul, then, it, too,
shall please me very much, and I thank Thee, Most Sweet Jesus,
Shepherd and Lover of Souls; I thank Thee for this
opportunity to give mercy in thanksgiving for all the mercies
Thou hast shown me. Amen.

Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying.
I told them to pray this first.

PENANCE: The Sacrament by which, as a repentant sinner, I receive forgiveness of even mortal sins, and thus become again a living member of Christ's Mystical Body. Tonight, therefore, I shall examine my conscience in preparation for a full Confession, realizing that I must have a genuine sorrow for sin, together with a determination to sin no more.

But I told them to say this

A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION
O My God, I adore Thee and I love Thee with all my heart. I thank Thee for having created me, for having made me a Catholic/christian and for having watched over me this day. Pardon me for the evil I have done this day; and if I have done any good, deign to accept it. Watch over me while I take my rest and deliver me from danger. May Thy grace be always with me. Amen.

Then the sinners prayer:ACT OF CONTRITION 1

O MY GOD,  I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell; but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life. Amen.

AN ACT OF CONTRITION VERSION 2

Forgive me my sins, O Lord, forgive me my sins;
the sins of my youth, the sins of my age, the sins of my soul,
the sins of my body; my idle sins, my serious voluntary sins;
the sins I know, the sins I do not know; the sins I have concealed
for so long, and which are now hidden from my memory.

I am truly sorry for every sin, mortal and venial,
for all the sins of my childhood up to the present hour.

I know my sins have wounded Thy Tender Heart,
O My Savior, let me be freed from the bonds of evil through
the most bitter Passion of My Redeemer. Amen.

O My Jesus, forget and forgive what I have been. Amen.

I also told them to ask Jesus to come into there hearts. And to reannounce Satan and to tell Satan to leave and go back to which thee came.

I feel called to tell Pagans to go back to Christ. Not the enemie. These Pagans are blinded by Satan. One good example is I was talking to a Pagan aka Witch and she yelled at me calling me a harlot. Telling me to leave her alone and she told me I hate you bloody christians. You make me sick. I was upset felt like I wanted to cry but I knew that was Satan talking through her on allexperts and that it wasnt the real her. Satan was in her soul devouring her in every nook and cranny.

Question: You say that you believe and that you are saved right now. I suppose this is the result of some form of prayer said with sincerity and published by some Protestant or Evangelical group I do not care for your Christian prayers. said the Witch.

the witch also said: No, I am not saved because I said a prayer. Many wrongly assume they are saved because they said the "sinner's prayer" or because they went forward in an evangelistic meeting or signed a card. This false idea is not much different from the Roman Catholic doctrine that a person is born again by submitting to water baptism she laught and said you chrisians crack me up.

It is arguably worse than baptismal regeneration, for Christ did command his disciples to be baptized, but He never conditioned salvation on walking up an aisle and repeating a formula. The truth of the matter is that salvation is not something that humans do; but something that God does for and in us.

I then replied to her:Salvation is of the LORD (Jonah 2:9). The prayer for mercy, faith, repentance, the obedience to baptism, love and holiness issue from a new heart that the Lord grants to undeserving sinners. Salvation is not something we can earn or achieve.

God, the one and only Saviour, declares: "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion." Therefore the Scriptures conclude: "So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy" (Romans 9:15,16).We are the lost, helpless sinners, and we cannot by our will or action attain salvation. We are totally dependent on the sovereign mercy of God. In the Bible we don't read about the lost sheep seeking and finding the shepherd; rather we only read how the Good Shepherd seeks and finds the lost sheep.

You seem to be surprised that I claim to be saved right now. Yes, I do have eternal life, and I know it. How so? Am I being presumptuous? No, rather, I am confident in the Word and promises of God. You know John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

By God's grace, I believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. I trust in Him for my salvation. I know my faith is genuine because I love God and seek with all my heart to obey His commandments.

Now, since I believe in the Son of God, the Bible assures me that I "have everlasting life." Eternal life is my present possession. I thank God for His amazing love -- all glory to Him!

The so-called "sinner's prayer" is at best the expression of true faith. Such faith can only be recognized whether it is alive or dead by the fruit that it produces. On the other hand, the "sinner's prayer" could also be the occasion of terrible self-deception because the unrepentant and unbeliever could be easily induced by to parrot a few religious sentences.

A million sinner's prayers will not keep you out of hell unless you truly believe in the Lord Jesus, as evidenced by a consistent life of practical holiness and love.

She was araged and she said just leave me alone this was on a chatroom a while back. I was trying to tell Pagans/WICCANS to come back to God they all laught at me and said what a weirdo, and acted out and said Oh Jesus save me and then mocked me and called me a Jesus freak. I cried and yelled at them on the chatroom I said you will all be cursed by God himself may you suffer the wrath of God to come when the second coming is near.

Then they all started to laugh every one of these cultist. And said Jesus is just a man he was just a great teacher. I said no He was both GOD AND MAN MAY YOU DEVILS SEE HELL. I said to them. That was so horrible I know know how St. Paul felt when he went to these pagan cities.

Then a male witch yelled at me on the chatroom and said No sinners prayer will save you from that wrath."

I yelled at him back:"Repent you all therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." Acts 3:19. I tell your people what is happening, get right with God and repent or you can choose to perish.

These where really bad pagans like the ones in the bible. They worshipped pagan idols! Did magick and sorcery. I was outraged by this evilness.Griff was I right and these people wrong for mocking God. I told them "Get sin out of your church by turning that person loose so .... Christ commands the ungodly to repent.

Repent is to be sorrowful for sin and make certain we stop sinning. So am I doing something right.... I am glad to be in a christian environment. I love God and Jesus with all my heart I even love his mother. My issue is when I tell the pagans to love Christ and his mother, they say that Mary was a Goddess! That isnt true, she was saved from God by sin. She didnt sin at all in her lifetime. Because she had no sins. SHE WAS SINLESS. So who is right I am or they are?

Answer
Pursuing a mission takes more than writing letters to tell people how wrong they are (though in point of fact that is what Christianity has always been in the rather awkward position of having to do), but to work with one's missionary targets, providing practical corporal works of mercy where practical and possible, and showing love for both their temporal as well as spiritual needs, and also working under the auspices of a congregation or order or bishop or priest who will guide you into the ways of being a productive missionary, for "he that winneth souls is wise."
