AboutBro. Ignatius Mary, OLSM, L.Th. Expertise I am a Catholic apologist, catechist, spiritual director, and spiritual warfare/deliverance counselor holding a degree of Licentiate in Theology. Questions dealing with the Catholic Faith will be answered according to official Church teachings, where such official teachings exist, and according to solid principles taught by the Church and the saints on areas where there is no specific Church teaching. I am a one-hundred-percent loyal and obedient to the Pope and Magisterium of the Church. If you want to know the TRUE SCOOP of Church teaching, here is the place to get it.

Experience
Experience in the area Apologetics: I was a Baptist preacher, Bible teacher, and evangelist for 15 years before converting to the Catholic Church in 1992.
As a Catholic I have been teaching Bible, Catechetics, apologetics, and evangelism for 14 years. I also have 24 years of pastoral counseling experience and 14 years experience as a Catholic Spiritual Director.
Experience in Spiritual Warfare Counseling: I have been in deliverance ministry since 1986 as a Baptist. After converting to the Catholic Church I continued the spiritual warfare work including counseling, writing, consulting, and teaching workshops, and training Deliverance Counsellors.

I was on the phone and I was talking to my friend Brian and the oddest thing happened. I was talking to him about his day and what he was up to and such.
The usual. And I then smelled a odor that was nasty it was coming through the lines. He was not himself, this happened last night at 8:30. He became irrational, he has started to lose hours, he was acting as if he confused by being in the world. We were having Conversations about his job an such but then he said that he can't remember, he has excessive violent urges, etc.
My friend had become a different person, controlled by another personality.
My friend who is under the control of a demon cannot control himself he asked for help but he said it is tormenting him. The evil spirit is able to speak through their lips and that is what happened. A demon can speak through a man, even in a different voice.I was telling my mother that in the Bible, Jesus asked the demon for it's name. It called itself Legion. And that is what happened to my friend last night! I said what is your name he said Legion!
My friend had Levitated, and such it is like another Emily Rose but a male this time.It is very eerie. I need help!
The Presence: The exorcist and his assistants become aware of an alien feeling or entity. Attempts or actions of the evil spirit appear to be the victim's. The exorcist's first job is to break this Pretense and find out whom the demon really is. Gaining the entity's name is most important.
Breakpoint: The moment when the Devil's Pretense finally collapses. This is usually a moment of complete pandemonium. There evolves a scene of panic and confusion, accompanied by a crescendo of abuse, horrible sights, noises, and odors. The Devil then turns on the victim, speaking of the person in the third person.
The Voice: Also a sign the Breakpoint, the Voice (of the demon) becomes "inordinately disturbing and humanly distressing babble." The demon's voices must be silenced for the exorcism to proceed.
The Clash: As the Voices die out there is both a spiritual and physical pressure. The demon has collided with the "will of the Kingdom." The exorcist is now in direct battle with the demon, urging the entity to reveal more information about itself so it can be controlled. As previously mentioned, there is a connection between the entity and the victim's resident. The entity wants a place to be in, or it must return to Hell. An existence out of Hell is what the Devil or demon is fighting for.
Expulsion: In the supreme triumph of God's will, the demon or spirit leaves in the name of Jesus. All present feel the Presence dissipates, occasionally with receding noises and voices. The victim may remember the ordeal or may not recall anything that has happened.
Answer Dear Jacqueline:
Absolutely UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE are you to ask the demon its name or talk to it in any way. Absolutely UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES are you to try to cast any demon out. You are not qualified and place yourself in GREAT danger. You also place the other person in danger.
You may pray FOR him in the privacy of your own prayers, but you are not to pray OVER him or with him. The only thing you can do is to refer the person to the bishop.
Also, the quotation you gave of The Presence, Breakpoint, The Voice, The Clash, and Expulsion is from Malachi Martin's "Hostage to the Devil". That book is not accurate and should not be used as a reference.
You need to stop reading any books about exorcism and deliverance. Reading a couple of books does not make you a deliverance minister or exorcist any more than reading a couple books on brain surgery makes you a brain surgeon.
STOP PLAYING with things you are not qualified to deal with.
