Catholics/Hell

Question
QUESTION: I asked many questions and I really appreciate all your answers. Nevertheless I couldn't believe that Jesus went to hell whe he died, or as you said, He passed through Hell.
This answer troubled me and gave me a lot to think about?
How can you prove that God Jesus passed through hell and for what reason? and if Jesus has to pass through hell, than what about the rest of the world?
Thanks anyway

ANSWER: Mona,
I certainly can't prove it.  The Apostles Creed reads:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Yes, perhaps I misspoke -- he "passed" through Hell.

The rest of the world will pass through purgatory before reaching Heaven.

Thanks for your question-

QUESTION: Sorry. I'm a Catholic I know very well the Apostles Creed, and there is not such thing as :"He descended into hell". I'm sorry, But I have to ask are you yourself a catholic? in our Apostles creed there is "He descended from heaven" but there is no "into hell".
Thank you anyway for answering.

Answer
Mona,
Yes, I am Catholic.  There is more than one version of the Apostles Creed out there - here's the one from the Vatican:

Given you're Catholic, I invite you to look at the one provided by the Vatican.
God bless,
Charlie
