AboutFr. Jerome Expertise A traditional Catholic priest who provides forthright answers to questions FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF TRADITIONAL CATHOLICISM (not the New Order) on topics pertaining to traditional Roman Catholicism, including theology, the Bible, Church history, the Latin language, liturgy (especially the Traditional Latin Mass), and music (especially Gregorian chant), and current events in the Catholic Church.
Question I was doing some reading recently on traditional catholicism and I'm not sure if I have it right, but the message I got is that all the apostolates e.g. Legion of Mary are not in keeping with the traditional church. I recently joined Magnificat which began in New Orleans and I want to know your thoughts on this.
Answer You are correct about the fact that once-traditional organizations that have gone over to the New Order are not in keeping with the traditional Catholic Faith. For example, Catholic Charities in Virginia has recently been caught signing abortion warrants for underage girls without the knowledge or consent of their parents.
Magnifict's web page describes it as part of Charismaticism, a Protestant error that has consistently been condemned by the Church.
