Catholics/Hymns

Question
Why do traditional Catholics have a problem with "Amazing Grace" besides the fact that it is a Protestant hymn? Also, is Padre Pio recognized on the traditional calendar as a saint?

Answer
(1) It is not part of Catholic tradition, but comes from Protestantism.  By the same token, although the organ works of J.S. Bach are frequently used in traditional Catholic churches (the New Order having sold out to modern ditties), his German cantatas written for the Lutheran sect are not.

(2) No.  Although his case is stronger than most, the conanization process in Newchurch is so defective, that one must suspend judgment on those purported Saints after the New Order got in.  For further information, see "Canonizations, Post-conciliar" at www.traditio.com/tradlib/faq10.txt.
