Catholics/opening the third eye

Question
Are we Carholics forbidden to open the third eye? is it occultism?

Answer
Dear Aloysious:

The third eye is a meditation practiced supposedly to open one’s spiritual side. It is not appropriate for Catholics or any Christians to “open the third eye”. It is popular in New Age and is listed on one website along with other “Satanic Meditations”. That alone should give one a clue that opening the third eye should be avoided. The third eye is supposed to increase one’s ability to see things that other cannot. This type of ”diviner” has been condemned by the Church and the Bible (see Deut. 18:14).

I hope that this helped,
Sal
