Question
I am a Catholic and I believe the Catholic Church was the first and only Church.  How did the Catholic Church evolve in name when Jesus was a Jew?  When was the Church first called Catholic?
Any information with this would be appreciated.

Answer
Jon,
Thanks for your question.  If you're serious attempting to get at the answer to your question, a study of the Early Church Fathers would put you in good stead with an understanding.
