Question
Is it possible that the Catholic church can be true even though then have killed many Christian during the Dark Ages and with held the Bible, they ordered Galileo to house arrest for believing the Earth was round which it is. and that Mary is Holy. the Bible specifically mentions her calling Christ a Savior which would mean she need saving? if possible please clear up this Misunderstanding

Answer
Dear William:

You assume that I agree with you that the Catholic Church executed many people during the Dark Ages. I don't agree. Even so, I do acknowledge that the Catholic Church has sinful people in it. This fact does not preclude it still being the True Church of Jesus Christ. Don't forget that Jesus said that both good and bad would reside in his Church until he returns (see Matthew 13:24-30).

Congratulations on correctly noting that the Catholic Church put Galileo under house arrest. You can't imagine how many people have attempted to convince me that the Church had Galileo executed.

Mary needing a Savior has no bearing on whether she was holy or not.

God Bless You,
Sal
