Question QUESTION: is it true that catholic priests can be gay and still serve as a priest? can they still have homosexual desires, feeings, and longings and yet still perform mass?
s
ANSWER: Dear S:
If a priest doesn't act upon his unnatural desire then he can remain a priest. No one even has to know what his desire is. Whether he has a desire toward men or women doesn't matter so long as he doesn't act upon the desire. The key is that he must remain celibate.
Thanks for the question.
God Bless You,
Sal

QUESTION: so the answer is yes, a priest can be gay with unatural, homosexual desires and feelings, and yet still preform a catholic mass? and all this with rome's approval? i am not being disrepectful just trying to be clear.
thanks
s
Answer Dear S:
The Catholic Church does not knowingly ordain homosexuals to the priesthood. However, if a priest has homosexual tendencies, but does not act on those desires no one, including Rome, knows that he is homosexual. Happily, the validity of the mass is not related to the sinlessness of the priest. This fact takes away any doubt in the minds of the faithful whether or not they are participating in a valid mass and receiving a valid Eucharist.
