A Jewish anthropologist was trying to understand how the Catholic faith teaches from the New Testament, which the Jewish faith obviously does not have, but yet accepts the 10 Commandements from the Old Testament. I wasn't sure how to explain that we haven't completely dismissed the Old Testament. Help?

Also, she was wondering how the Catholic Church defines an illegitimate child. Is their some definition in the scriptures?
I thought it was any child born out of wedlock, but is there a biblical reference?

Thanks for your question. Honestly, I don't see an issue or question from your Jewish anthropologist.  Yes, we haven't dismissed the Old Testament.

How does the Catholic Church define an illegitimate child and is there some definition in the scriptures, here's your answer:
