Catholics - Hamlet and Wittenberg

Expert: Charlie Breeding - 11/5/2009

Question
At the start of Shakespeare's play "Hamlet" we learn that Hamlet had been studying in Wittenberg. Would the theology he studied there have contributed to Hamlet's dilemma about avenging his father's murder?

Answer
Karen,
Thanks for your question.  Rather than rejecting it, I thought that I'd answer by saying, "I don't know" & without doing more research.  I assume that this is not a homework question, right?

I'd suggest posting it in another Catholic experts section as I have no idea what theology Hamlet studied.
God bless,
Charlie
