Catholics/Attraction to Religious Vocation

Question
Father, to your knowledge, have there been any studies conducted to help indentify the attraction that homosexuals, pedophiles, adulters, etc... have towards religious vocation in the Catholic Church?

If you are not aware of any such studies, what is your perspective of this lure that they have? My focus is on their state of mind prior to entering any type of seminary or convent.

Answer
This is a consequence of the "modernizing" council Vatican II (1962-1965).  Before Vatican II this was no more of a problem than it was in any other organization.  Unsuitable candidates were almost always screened out before ordination.

Since Vatican II, the Newchurch has basically thrown out the moral rulebook and has allowed perverts and criminals in the clergy full rein.  Not only that, but the Newchurch hierarchy even obstructs justice and covers up for them, and some of the hierarchy even participates in the perversions and crimes.

Of course, the man ultimately responsible is Card. Ratzinger-Benedict, who since 2001 has been Newvatican's official Sex Crimes Czar.  Outside of a few P.R. statements where he wrings his hands for effect, like Pontius Pilate, he has done absolutely nothing to purge Newchurch of these criminals.  Take Rembert Weakland, the archbishop of Milwaukee.  He stole half a million dollars from the collection plate to pay hush-money to his homosexual lover.  Ratingzer-Benedict imposed no penalty on him whatsoever for his crimes.  He even let him keep the stolen money!

The real question is how the Newchurchers can let Ratzinger-Benedict get away with this criminal malfeasance in office.  If he were the CEO or a congressman, he'd have been hounded out of office long ago.  How have the morals of Newchurchers become so corrupted that they allow their own money to be stolen and their own children to be raped and assaulted by Newchurch clergy without a peep of moral outrage?  The answer:  look at the immoral behaviour of pope and hierarchy that are leading them!
