Question
How is slavery addressed in Scripture as to being humane/inhumane?

Answer
In the New Testament, Paul deals with the defacto situation of slavery, which in the Roman empire was quite different from modern slavery -- usually much more humane.  Many slaves were emancipated at the death of their masters.  Some slaves even had slaves.  Many slaves were skilled professionals in such fields as education and finance.
You might read: 1 Tim 6:1-2, 1 Cor 7:21-23, Eph 6:5-9.  Paul recognized that slave and free were equal in the Church.
Hope these thoughts help.  You are always welcome to write agian.
Best wishes, Gene.
