Question
In regards to tithing, is it the churches teaching to tithe 10% of your gross income or 10% of take home income?

Answer
The practice of tithing comes from the Old Testament.
For a recent interpretation by the American Catholic bihops, I refer you to their statement on Discipleship, which can be found online at:
www.usccb.org/stewardship/disciplesresponse/pdf
If this site does not work, then go to the base site and search for tithing.
If you wish more from me, please feel free to write again. I'll answer more promptly.
Please excuse my delay in answering your question, I just found it today.
Best wishes for the New Year, Kevin.
