Question
Dear Father,thank you for answering my previous questions.
I red somewhere that a person who is not in the state of grace is odious and displeasing to God as a rotten corpes.and also that such a one is not loved by God and lacks charity himself.Now I am confused because we know that God loved the saints of old testament(I know that they were saved by hoping in a redeemer)these saints were unbaptized and therefore in the state of original sin.the other thing:if God hates people living in sin why he feeds them heals them and answers their prayers?

Thank you for the question.
This is the situation often described as God "hating the SIN, but loving the sinner as a person." God desires the salvation of all people: that they would come to repent from their sins, and receive God's forgiveness and the help of His Grace in order to live a truly holy life in union with Him. This is God's desire for all who are living in this world right now until the last moment of their life. Being in the "state of grace" is the beginning of eternal Life - in that loving relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit.

I serve 3-small, rural Parish Communities in Easter North Dakota
I converted to the Roman Catholic Church in 1981, at the age of 15.
Over the years I have done work as an organist, cantor, and choir director for the Latin Rite (English & Latin) Mass (Liturgy of the Eucharist), and even for the Hours of the Divine Office.
I have worked as a cantor for a Melkite Byzantine Catholic Church.
Presently my pastoral and administrative duties as a Catholic Priest do not allow me as much time as I used to have to devote to Sacred Music; but for my weekend Masses and Solemnities within my Tri-Parish, I offer High Sung Mass in English. Weekday Mass is typically Low Mass (recited Mass) in English, though on occasion I will offer the "Tridentine Mass" in Latin, which I usually offer on my "Day Off", as well. And now, in light of the "Motu Proprio" by his Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI placing the extraordinary usage of the Roman Rite back into the mainstream of the Catholic Church, I have been offering a regularly scheduled SUN, 2:00 PM Tridentine Latin Mass with a community of the faithful that has a stable existence.
