Catholics/Marriage in Peru

Question
Hi - I am a divorced father of 2 kids. My first marriage was a civil wedding.

I am marrying my Peruvian fiance in Peru in a traditional catholic ceremony in a church in Peru. Is it OK with the catholic church that I am divorced and have two kids (I have ticked the other boxes of being baptised, confirmed and completing the pre-marriage education program).

thanks

Answer
You need to communicate officially with detailed information about your previous marriage and divorce.
To determine your freedom to marry in the Catholic Church, a check needs to be made with the local Catholic parish where you live or did live [in Australia]at the time of the marriage and divorce.  That local parish will gather the necessary data for forwarding to the parish of the bride.  [The parish of the bride could also send a questionnaire.]  Official communication is made from the office of one bishop to that of the other.
I hope these thoughts help.  If not, let me know.
Best wishes.
