Catholics/inviting non-Catholics to ordination

Question
My husband will be ordained a deacon in May.  We are inviting many non-Catholics.  I feel this is an exciting opportunity for me to evangelize and let Mother Church through the Holy Spirit show my loved ones the splendor of our faith. Some of them feel ill at ease.  How can I make them feel comfortable?

Answer
Peace

dear Annie,
What a wonderful idea and gift to your friends. I am sure Mother Church will be pleased.
One suggestion perhaps before the ordination, perhaps have your husband and another person, give a talk about the Catholic view of the sacraments, especially Eucharist and Holy Orders.
Maybe do so as a gathering the night before. I would use an apologetics approach to the talks, and maybe have some refreshments afterward. I also suggest if possible have it open to all, especially your non-Catholics family and members of your parish or the one he is to be assigned to. Why, as way of casting out "fear" based on ignorance and perhaps inspire a future deacon or other vocational calling in someone.
I suggest, a Q&A session as well.
Most of all, pray for them and I know God will do His "part". Pray they response in the positive, according to God's graces.

Be Assured of My Prayers and HIS Mercy,

Expertise

I am willing to attempt to answer any question. If I don’t know the answer, I will look-up or pass the question on to friends for feed back. Beside Catholicism (especially the social/moral and the Eastern rites), I am well read on Mormonism and so-called Modern Christian Fundamentalism. Also I study Franciscan History as means of growing in my lay Franciscan calling to holiness in Christ.
