Catholics/Anger

Question
Hello Father, I am so happy that you are back.
a RC website says that people who were abused in their past have so many unconscious anger, even if they think they don't have it and even if they think they have forgiven their abusers their forgiveness is premature and unreal, unless they bring thier pain to awareness and  feel it's pain and then decide to forgive. and he says that this may take some time and one may need psychotherapy.
Does catholic Church accept these views?and is it true that those who have unconscious anger cannot love God? what if they consciously decide to love God? will then this unconscious anger hinder their charity?
Thank you Father

Answer
What is unconscious is not a moral act.  Only what one chooses consciously by free will is a moral action.  For the rest, this must be a prudential decision on your part.  You should determine the prudent course to take based upon your knowledge of the situation, as that is personal to you.
