Catholics/Reverting to Catholocism

Question
I was/am a cradle catholic but "left" the catholic church. That is to say that I stopped practicing my catholic faith and joined a non denominational christian church. As I continue to learn and grow spiritually I am curious what one would need to do if they decided to revert back to the Catholic Church. What must be done to be "in good standing" with the church once again? Also, what would I need to provide to my current church to prove that I have been baptised, confirmed, etc?

Answer
Robert,

It's not difficult. Practice may vary from parish to parish. In my parish, you would be asked to join the RCIA people--those preparing to enter the church--to get a refresher on doctrine, sacraments, etc. You would also be asked to receive the sacrament of reconciliation (confession). Any official records of your current church, baptismal certificates, etc., would be sufficient proof of your baptism and confirmation. Best way to find out about this is just ask. Call the nearest parish to you and ask the pastor. Good luck.
