Question
Hello..I am very interested in converting to Catholicism. However,I am divorced, and have heard that a divorcee cannot convert. Is this true?Thank you

Derek Cranford

Answer
Derek,

This is most certainly NOT true. The Church will want to know about your previous marriage; there is a possibility it will have to go through a process called annulment, but there is definitely no bar to your becoming a Catholic because you're divorced.
