Catholics/dream of latin phrase
Expert: Griff Ruby - 6/5/2009
Questioni had a weird dream and need a little help. first off, i am not catholic or really very religious. do believe in God, however. i have had prophetic, message-type dreams since i was a child. i'm sure this dream holds a message but don't know exactly what. here goes: i walk into a beautiful courtyard of a place that looks like a palace or something. there's a fountain with beautiful flowing water. i walk around and come to an old lady sitting by a table with things for sale. i pick up some jewelled things and go to pay her for them. she makes a comment on my youth and then says, have you found where the light is coming from yet? i look at her puzzled...then turn around to walk away. people are there now. as they pass me, they smile as if welcoming me, and they all have a ball of radiatng, glowing light coming from their chests. some are brighter than others. then i come to a piece of paper with a phrase written on it...it was fuzzy but i could read it...adeo redeo donatus. i googled it and see that it's latin. what does this mean? can you help me?
AnswerThere are significant biblical themes throughout this whole dream.
That there is no glowing light in your own chest as there is for the others indicates that you still have yet to obtain it for yourself, so the instruction was to go and return the jewelled gifts and seek instead of God the light of the heart for yourself. The welcoming nature of those with such a glow is their welcome and encouragement to join the Kingdom of God.
Do not seek merely the trimmings and trappings of Faith, but rather that Faith of the Son of God in your heart. A Scripture states that you must be adorned with that inner beauty of the secret person of the heart rather than the superficial beauty of styled hair and jewelry.
The use of the Latin is also a clue, for Latin is the language of the Church that brings God to the hearts of all who receive Him.
The beauty of the courtyard, palace, and fountain are representative of the beauty of the Truth of God which is true everywhere, have you but to see it. The Fountain also stands for the waters of baptism, ever waiting to cleanse you for the Kingdom.
As to the varying intensity of the heart-lights, Scripture also states that "star differs from star in glory" by which is meant that each glorified soul differs in glory, some brighter than others, and that once you find your heart-light yours too will be brighter than some and not as bright as others.
Hope this helps, God bless!
