Catholics/Tubal ligation

Regardless of Catholic Teaching, listen to your doctor.  Tubal Ligation is the safest way to prevent future pregnancy that would be risky.

Catholic bioethics has no issue with Tubal Ligation for health related issues.  If a woman is morally concerned, she can talk to her Doctor and Priest together.  Most Catholic hospitals still perform tubal ligations.  The best time for this is right after a woman delivers.  This avoids secondary risk of infection from a minor surgery.

Catholic dogma, especially as related to Scripture. I have a doctorate in biblical theology [University of St. Thomas, Rome]. I do not answer questions concerning personal moral situations -- ones dealing with right and wrong [sin].

I have taught Catholic thought in grade and high schools, and in college and universities.
