Catholics/Family Tree - Scriptural Basis

Question
I would like to know if you know if the Family Tree Masses / Generational healing have any basis in Scripture for Catholics.  For me it seems to conflict with the teaching on Purgatory. I would be interested in your views... thank you.

Answer
I am not familiar with the type of Mass intentions about which you ask.
Not knowing the exact intentions of those who arrange for such Masses, I am not sure how those thoughts woul match with Catholic teaching.  I would think that the priest accepting the intention would ask for some details.
I pray for my deceased ancestors to be freed from purgatory.  I also have Masses said for recently deceased relatives and friends.
I guess that when it comes to purgatorial ancestors who died long, long ago, I think that they have probably served their time.  I do remember in prayers those relatives whom I knew during my lifetime.
Sorry not to be of more help.
Best wishes, Anne.
