Question
My step granddaughter is 8 years old, her mother and other relatives practice Baptist religion as so does she but when she is with my her dad and my daughter (who practices Catholic) she is interested in learning about the catholic religion. I am looking for books to help her without confusing her. Any help would be grateful.

Answer
Sarah,
Thanks for your question.  I'm fond of your name having named my youngest of four, Sarah.

I checked with two experts that I have used these resources successfully over 10 years:
- http://www.catholiccompany.com/catholic-books/1011136/New-American-Catechism-Gra...
- several schools use: http://www.ignatius.com/Textbooks/Catechism-FaithAndLife.aspx?SID=1

If you like to read stories of the saints -  Mary Fabyan Windeatt - is a Wonderful author of the Saints.  She writes her stories in a very simple and easy to comprehend way - and her books keep you interested.  My 9 year old probably 'poured' through a dozen of her books last year.  These are great as a 'Read Aloud' as well - and the adult reading the book will also learn.

And then there are 'Rare Catholic Stories'   by Little Way Press - fun and enjoyable stories.

And something a little 'more' - not as 'simple' but still comprehensive - but with a little bit of a 'challenge' to it is:  My Path to Heaven  A young person's guide to the Faith.    By Geoffrey bliss, S.J.  through Sophia Press   (I recommend this to a child who is facing the issues this little one is - because - it uses Scripture Passages throughout the book and the Baptist love Scripture)  :-)
God bless,
Charlie
