Hello:

I'm glad you are an expert in the old and new testament.

I am interested in knowing more about Jesus genealogy. Is it
true that Moses, Jesus and Mohammed were all from the same
family tree..??

Perhaps you can tell me if Jesus is connected to Moses
through Joseph or through Mary's ancestors... and who in
Joseph or Mary's family passed the lineage to Mohammed.

Fascinating subject don't you think..??

All human beings are related in that we ultimately can trace our lineage back to the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. Therefore, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammad were all related just as you and I are related. If you want to know were they close relatives the answer is no. Moses was from the line of Levi and Jesus was from the line of Judah. Both Levi and Judah were children of Jacob. So the closest they were related was through Jacob. Mohammad was born well after the Bible was written so he is not mentioned at all. He would be an even more distant relative. Since he was an Arab he would be from the line of Ishmael who was a son of Abraham. Abraham’s beloved son was Isaac who was the father of Jacob who was the father of Levi and Judah from which sprang Moses and Jesus, respectively.

The geneologies in the New Testament (Mt. 1:1-16 and Lk. 3:23-38) are through the line of Joseph the foster father of Jesus.
