Catholics/Question about the Rosary

Question
Hello,
I have a question about the Rosary.
I have a habit of doing something at night. Nothing against the religion or anything bad, just an annoying habit since childhood that I've been trying to stop. So last night, I asked Mother Mary for help, and slept with my Rosary in my hand. It did help, I didn't do my annoying habit at all last night.
But I know it's wrong to treat the Rosary in a bad way, like you shouldn't wear it around your neck and such. Is it okay that I slept with it and want to again until my habit is gone? Or is it sacrilegious that I did that?
It's not like it's just left on my bed or anything, I held it in my hand most of the night, or it stayed by my head next to the pillow.

I thank you for any information/advice you give me,
Amber

Answer
Peace

First, its not wrong to wear the Rosary around your neck, so long as you don't see it as jewelry. Its a devotional practice to wear the Rosary as like a livery in some Spanish and some Slavonic cultures.

Instead, of just wearing at bedtime. Pray it, asking Mother Mary to pray with you to break your habit.

Also I study Franciscan History as means of growing in my lay Franciscan calling to holiness in Christ.
