Catholics/Marriage

Question
George,
Is it permissable for a catholic to attend the wedding of a baptized, but fallen away catholic, to a protestant woman?
If not, what doctrine or canon law specifically prohibits this?
This question is tearing at my family.
Thank you for your time.
Bob

Answer
Peace

In most case, its a matter of conscience not doctrine if I am understanding the question you have asked. I would only generally advise staying away for the ceremony but maybe at reception. As a way saying you reject the doctrinal view of the couple if its not in line with Church but you are willing to support them as persons.
