Question
hi, my questions is my husband and i have been married for four years(by civil hall) we have two children, i am currently trying to put myself in Gods hands, so my question is: is my family in sin for not being married in church if can i rectify it by getting married in church under Gods eyes? my husband and i were waiting for our ten year anniversary to do that but i would like to be married under His eyes and Love.

What wonderful news that you are striving to place yourself more and more into God's loving and merciful hands! I wish that I could answer this question more fully, but you did not quite provide me with enough information in your question.
Are you and/or your husband Catholic? Are you baptized Christians of one of the denominations?
Have either of you been married before?
These facts are important to know since they pertain to whether or not you are subject to Catholic Church Law, or Divine Law only... and whether or not you were both "free to marry."
I wish you well, and if you are Catholics, I would strongly encourage you to bring your situation to your local Parish Priest who could hopefully assist you in particulars.

I serve 3-small, rural Parish Communities in Easter North Dakota
I converted to the Roman Catholic Church in 1981, at the age of 15.
Over the years I have done work as an organist, cantor, and choir director for the Latin Rite (English & Latin) Mass (Liturgy of the Eucharist), and even for the Hours of the Divine Office.
I have worked as a cantor for a Melkite Byzantine Catholic Church.
Presently my pastoral and administrative duties as a Catholic Priest do not allow me as much time as I used to have to devote to Sacred Music; but for my weekend Masses and Solemnities within my Tri-Parish, I offer High Sung Mass in English. Weekday Mass is typically Low Mass (recited Mass) in English, though on occasion I will offer the "Tridentine Mass" in Latin, which I usually offer on my "Day Off", as well. And now, in light of the "Motu Proprio" by his Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI placing the extraordinary usage of the Roman Rite back into the mainstream of the Catholic Church, I have been offering a regularly scheduled SUN, 2:00 PM Tridentine Latin Mass with a community of the faithful that has a stable existence.
