Catholics/Attendance at Mass

Question
At what time of day on a Saturday constitutes your Sunday obligation.

For example if we attended a Mass at a Nursing Home at 2:30 PM on a Saturday would that take care of our Sunday obligation?

My husband and I are having a disagreement on the subject.

Thank You!
Sallyann

Answer
Dear Sallyann:

The Sunday obligation will not be satisfied by a 2:30 Saturday Mass. Mass needs to be celebrated the "evening" before not during the daytime. I could not find out any exact time just "evening". This probably refers to sundown.

I hope this helps.
