Catholics/Divine Will

Question
Dear Fr. Michael, please clarify this confusion: How does God show us His will? I am speaking about choices that don't include sins or obligations as they are obvious. But being told to be open and see what God wills, and knowing that I can't wait for a sign or a miracle, it is very confusing. No priest available as I said in my past questions. I once considered practining the folk Catholic devotions I saw on a website when one says a prayer to a Saint and gets an answer in a dream. But I think that may be sin of superstision. Some say that we must wait for a heart movement or inspiration from The Lord in silence. But in that case we can't tell whether what we feel is from God or just our own feeling. Please Father tell me how to know God's will without fear of an illusion or misinterpretation?

Answer
The best method is to use your rational judgment.  After all, this is what makes you "in God's image."  Working within the tenets of the Faith, as founded in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Traditional, you use your best judgment in practical wisdom (prudence), the highest of the moral virtues.
