Question
If you say Oh my God is that considered taking God's name in vain?
I said it when I heard some news & someone said I was committing a sin, is this true?  (question 2) are the seven deadly sins listed/mentioned in the Bible or are they scattered about through the Bible.
Thank You
God Bless You

Answer
Dear Barbara:

One should try to avoid the use of “God” in a disrespectful way. As far as it being a sin to say “God” without thinking about it, I would refer you to a priest.

The Seven Deadly Sins are pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed, and sloth. There is no list of the Seven contained as such in the Bible.

God Bless,
