Question
I was once married at a small chapel which it happen to be a Celtic Catholic Church in 1992, divorced in 2001 and was planning on getting married thru the Roman Catholic Church, i have all my sacraments, baptism, first communion and confirmation. Is this possible? I have always been Roman Catholic all my life but when i got married i was 20 yrs of age and didn't know better.

Answer
Doug,

You may indeed be married in the Roman Catholic Church, but you must first have your original marriage annulled. This is an ecclesiastical proceeding required because you were married in a Christian church the first time. Please consult with your pastor or parish staff to find out details about how the proceeding is handled in your diocese.
