Catholics/Traditional Catholicism

Question
Father,
I became Catholic in 2004. I try always to learn more about my faith and in doing that I'm understanding that there is quite a difference between what I learned and the Traditional Church. I've attended two Traditional Masses and felt like I was at home. Where do I go from here? There are so many differences between the New Order and Traditional Catholic teachings. I just don't know where to start.

Also, if the New Order is incorrect and I shouldn't attend a Mass offered in this way what becomes of my Sunday obligation?
Thank you for your time,

Answer
First of all, you have no obligation of any kind to attend false worship, any more than you have an obligation to attend a Protestant service.  To believe that would be a perversion of the Catholic faith.  Essentially, the Novus Ordo (New Order) service is no more a "Mass" than a Protestant service, after which it is fabricated.  The Novus Ordo service is clearly invalid according Catholic theology and specifically the papal decrees "Quo primum" and "Apostolicae curae."  Consult the current month's Official Traditional Catholic Directory for North America (www.traditio.com/nat.htm) for true Masses in your geographical area.

One very helpful site is the TRADITIO Traditional Roman Catholic Network.  We particularly recommend its FAQs for clear, Catholic advice on how to approach verious confusing issues and find what the true Catholic teachings and practices are.
