The rite from the traditonal Latin Pontifical includes the following major parts:
1) an address by the Metropolitan to the King (Cum hodie)
2) an oath by the King taken on the Holy Gospels (Ego, Deo Annuente)
3) a prayer by the Metropolitan (Omnipotens sempiterne Deus)
4) the chanting of the Litany of the Saints
5) the anointing of the King (Deus, Dei Filius)
6) the receipt of the sword (Accipe gladium)
7) the impositon of the crown (Accipe coronam)
8) the receipt of the sceptre (Accipe virgam virtutis)
9) the chanting of the Te Deum
10) prayers concluding the rite
