Catholics/Fast and Abstinence while Pregnant

are women who are pregnant bound to fast and abstain, or are they dispensed???

It depends on the individual case:  the status of the pregnancy, the closeness to term, etc.  Consult your physician and your confessor for their advice in the matter.

While fasting may be dispensed by your confessor for medical reasons, abstinence from fleshmeat usually is not.  It would be an unusual situation that would require the use of fleshmeat on a Friday or other day of abstinence, when other foods containing protein (such as dairy products) are readily available.  Again, consult with your physician and your confessor their advance in the matter.
