The Catholic Church (I am assuming that this is what you mean by "group") started with Jesus Christ. As for the teachings, consult such a reference as Fr. Francis J. O'Connell's THE NEW CONFRATERNITY EDITION, REVISED BALTIMORE CATECHISM AND MASS NO. 3. This is the text of the official revised edition of 1949 with Scriptural citations, annotations, and study helps.
