Question
Fr. Moderator,

Hello.

If Christ was, supposedly, Jewish, why are Christians not following the Torah?

Thank you...Marco

Answer
Because Christ, the Messias, came to institute the *New* Covenant.  The Judaic period was merely one of preparation.  Of course, the principles of natural law, such as those enunciated in the Commandments, remain, but not the ceremonial or specifically Judaic law.  This was typified by the rending of the High Priest's garments (the end of the Judaic priesthood) and the renting of the veil of the Sancta Sanctorum (the end of the Judaic law).
