Catholics/Be Like God

Question
What happens to human being s who strive to be like God on their own terms?

Answer
I am not sure what is the exact intent of your question.
However:  For a creature [human being]to strive to be pleasing to God [divine being], one needs to believe and do what God has made known through His revelation.
My answer seems inadequate to the depth of your concern, so please feel free to write again for further thoughts to respond to your more precise definition of your concern.
In the interim, best wishes, Cugo.
