Do you know how many times the word light is used in the Gospel of John in the New American Bible?  Or of a site that answers these types of questions?

I am sorry, Sister, that I do not have or know where one could find the exact info that you seek.  Technically, you are searching for a concordance or a statistical analysis to the NAB.  I doubt that such a work has been compiled.
In the Greek, John uses "light" 23 times in the gospel and 6 times in his epistles.
Since your search is somewhat limited, you could yourself count the times by reading quickly through the book.  I once did a similar task in Mark.
