Question
Was the Gospel of John written by Saint John or John The Baptist? Or are Saint John and John The Baptist the same person?

Answer
St. John the Apostle, sometimes called St. John the Evangelist, who also wrote the three Epistles in the New Testament, as well as the Apocalype, the last book of the New Testament.  St. John the Baptist is an entirely different person, who preached the Baptism of repentance and baptized Our Lord.
