We are new to the Catholic faith and want to know if we need a pyx to carry the host home when one of us is sick and can't amke it to Mass. Thank you, Jim and Janell Spence
Answer -
         Peace

Dear Jim Spence
First Welcome to the Altar of All Joy!! Generally speaking your parish might have one for you to use or other suitable carrier for our Eucharistic Savior. If not you might be able to order one from a good Catholic store.
Below is friend's online store. She also has a real store as well, if not on the site just email them your request and i am sure they can help you find one.

If they can't find one reasonably priced, let me know and might have some other ideas or leads by then.

So just to be sure, we do need a pyx, correct? Thanks, Jim

Dear Jim
Sorry for not being clear. I would say any suitable "container" would do as long as it has a tight lid to prevent the dropping/losting of the Host. Pyx are generally used by clergy or those visiting more than one person or place.
