Question
I don't quite understand the preaching of Jesus. it is challenging, even somewhat negative.
Did he have anything fully positive to say?
Can you please explain: Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to distruction, and those who enter through it are many.  How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life.  And those who find it are few (Matt 7:13-14).  Also,
You justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God (Luke 16:15).

Thank you

dear Teresa--
Yes, indeed the Gospel is a challenge. Yet if God calls us to do something, He gives the graces to fullfill those callings.

The narrow gate is the path of holiness and life eternal. We cant be holy on our own, only by the grace of God. We must actively embrace the graces offered.

All truth is positive, its only nagative to those who reject it or those who dont understand it.
