Catholics/Marriage

Question
Dear Sir,
I am a Catholic as is all my family.  I have been married to a Protestant for about a year.  She does not wish to change to Catholic and does not believe in its teachings and traditions. I respect that.

However, my family has alienated us from reunions and family get-togethers
because she does not believe in the Catholic faith.  Also, she wants to raise our future children as Protestants and I am against that.

What should I do if neither one wants to change?  Should I get a divorce and avoid any future conflicts?

Your view is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Victor Logan

Answer
                      Peace

Dear Victor--
First, your family is being foolish.I think if they were more hospitible and charible, it might be a help to lead your wife (and others) to the fullness of faith.
Second if your are married in the eyes of the Church, she would have promised not infere with your attempts to raise any and all childern in the Faith.
Seek counsel perhaps from diocesan or parish. Many dioceses have programs to help couples in mixed marriages.
